Managing Asbestos and Lead
Asbestos
White Shield specializes in these services for the built environment primarily focused on the use of hazardous building materials, or site contamination from prior or current operations. Our solutions include asbestos surveys, risk assessments, sampling, abatement design, oversight and air monitoring, and asbestos management plans. Our sampling methods conform to current EPA protocols, and samples analysis is conducted by an independent laboratory to confirm the presence or absence of asbestos.
- Polarized Light Microscopy (PLM)
- Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM)
- Phase Constrast Microscopy (PCM)
We also provide air sampling to monitor abatement activities, or as clearance testing of abatement work prior to occupancy of the facility. All of our asbestos professionals are AHERA certified.
Lead-Based Paint
Our certified lead-based paint risk assessors
conduct inspections of painted surfaces to identify any with a unique painting history. The inspections ensure that no accessible suspected lead-based paint goes undetected. Painted surfaces are tested using X-ray Flourescence (XRF) equipment, and paint samples are analyzed using the Atomic Absorption (AA) Method 7421. Our procedures are performed in accordance with all federal, state, and local agency guidelines.
White Shield's risk assessments include prioritized, recommended response actions, and the least burdensome methods regarding costs that will ensure the protection of human health and the environment. |
