Environmental Site Assessments
White Shield has decades of experience conducting Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) in order to learn about a property's past use, the environmental conditions at the site and adjoining sites, and the likely presence of hazardous substances. When the Phase I assessment finds known or suspected Recognized Environmental Conditions (RECs), a Phase II assessment is conducted with sampling and analysis to confirm the presence of the contamination, past or present land uses that may have caused contamination, or sources on adjacent land that may have resulted in the migration of contaminants onto the property being investigated. Our site assessment approach generally consists of the following elements:
- Sampling & analysis to identify & delineate volatile and semi-volatile organic compounds, pesticides, herbicides, metals, PCBs, inorganic compounds, metals
- Investigation methodology, groundwater-related information
- Sampling & decontamination procedure documentation
- Findings report including our professional opinion concerning the presence or absence of site contamination, recommended remedial actions and site closure plans
