Geographic Information System (GIS) and Geospatial Projects
GIS is a system that captures, stores, analyzes, manages, and presents data that are linked to a location. For example, GIS might allow emergency planners to calculate emergency response times in the event of a natural disaster, or might be used to identify wetlands that need protection from pollution.
These systems are comprised of computer applications that allow you to visualize large amounts of complex, spatial data by creating and combining layers of customized maps. GIS can mine data from spreadsheets or relational databases, and combine it with visual data such as CADD files, graphics, and images to create "intelligent maps" on which different types of analysis can be performed.
White Shield can provide a variety of GIS services to Federal, state, and local agencies to support cartography, remote sensing, land surveying, utility management, photogrammetry, geography, urban planning, emergency management, navigation, environmental, and other projects requiring detailed information analysis and georeferencing.
