Machine Control Modeling
Automated Machine Guidance (AMG) allows heavy equipment operators to construct a road or site project by following an electronic 3D data model. It brings the design to the field, reducing construction time and public safety issues during the construction phase.
The 3D model starts with the most detail and ends with the least detail from the plans. A roadway project is typically defined from plan, profile, typical section, super transition and cross-section information. By combining all of these elements together, the model provides accurate elevations for every square inch of the roadway.
Utilizing the latest modeling software, a two-dimensional construction plan is converted into a three-dimensional electronic model. Separate models are provided for base, sub-grade, rock, and pavement layers. The models can also be made to include all underground utility trenches. The Digital Terrain Model (DTM) includes every curb point, all high/low points, and centerline allignments, built using centerline profile data, not contours. Our standard line work format "Background Files" includes utility, pavement, curb and site/lot features in color coded, easy to read layouts.
